Clinical Trials
Clinical trials test the effectiveness and safety of new strategies for stroke treatment or prevention. Positive results from clinical trials lead to the approval of new stroke therapies or clarify the optimal uses of currently available medications or procedures. Participants in clinical trials sign an informed consent that describes the benefits and potential risks of participation. Some new therapies are only available through participation in a clinical trial.
The Stanford Stroke Center has designed or participated in over 100 clinical trials. The links below provide an overview of some of the trials that are currently enrolling patients at Stanford. If you are a potential candidate for any of these studies, please contact the Stanford Stroke Center through the Neurology Clinic (650) 723-6469, or send email to .
